RSS3 is a combination of RSS and Web3. RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication. It is a Simple open source program that allows users to subscribe to content actively. Subscribe to different blogs, news media and other web content, RSS applications can automatically and instantly aggregate the latest content to users without any platform review. Unlike traditional RSS, which is declining due to insufficient social interaction functions, RSS3 rebuilds social functions of Web2 in the spirit of Web3 decentralization.
We might think of RSS3 as Twitter and Facebook without censors and algorithmic filters, aggregating what users subscribe to. RSS3 is more than that. For example, the scope of information aggregation is for the entire Internet. As long as there is a centralized or decentralized application that supports RSS3, RSS3 can automatically aggregate information according to user preferences and publish it to the RSS3 Feed.
1, RE:ID Web2 application mapping Content in Web2 can be directly mapped to RSS3 through RE:ID, which escapes from the platform restricted by algorithm. However, among the current centralized social platforms, only Twitter, which is relatively open, supports this function. 2, Web3 Pass: create a personal profile on Web3 RSS3 imitates the personal page commonly seen on Web2 social platforms. Users can set RNS domain name freely with Web3 Pass, edit personal files on it, and present personal activities on the decentralized network, such as NFT collection, etc. 3, Revery RSS3 Feed reader Revery is an RSS3 Feed reader that can subscribe to and track different users and addresses. RSS3 is currently working closely with a number of decentralized applications such as Mask/Arweave/Mirror and is expected to provide a tracking subscription service for related applications in the future. January 13, 2022, RSS3 and The WEB2 social product Jike APP have reached a partnership, RSS3 has supported jike APP content index, the content of Jike APP can be viewed in its ecological product REVERY. This doesn't happen overnight, it's an incremental process, and it's worth noting that these are open source demos that allow developers the freedom to Fork and create their own on-chain home page or on-chain reader. Currently, more than ten applications, including Mask Network, Showme, Revery, Cheers Bio, InGroup, and Flowns, are using RSS3 distributed information.
As a Web3.0 infrastructure program, RSS3 can be said to be the result of the open source community combined with block chain technology. The new economic model and technical tools, to a considerable extent, solve the economic incentives and other development problems faced by RSS and other open source programs, so that users can still keep complete data ownership.
