According to an official announcement from BlockBeats on August 3, Huobi HTX launched perpetual contracts for GRVT/USDT, GILD/USDT, and UNH/USDT on August 3, with a maximum leverage of 10x.
According to BlockBeats, on August 3rd, Gate released its latest reserve status. As of July 27, 2026, the platform's overall reserve coverage reached 117%, consistently exceeding the industry security benchmark of 100%, covering nearly 500 types of user assets.
Regarding core assets, BTC user assets increased to 21,557, with the platform's reserves at 26,775, representing a reserve ratio of 124.2%. ETH user assets increased to 374,348, with the platform's reserves at 456,798, representing a reserve ratio of 122.02%. Additionally, GT and XRP reserve ratios were 131.13% and 116.5%, respectively.
Regarding stablecoins, users hold approximately 1.336 billion USDT, USDC, USD1, and GUSD in total, corresponding to approximately 1.59 billion in platform reserves, resulting in a comprehensive reserve ratio of 118.97%.
According to BlockBeats, on August 3rd, citing South Korea's JoongAng Ilbo, Kim Yong-beom, the Chief of Staff for Policy at the South Korean Presidential Office, has been formally charged with abuse of power, coercion, and obstruction of business for allegedly pushing for the listing of leveraged ETFs linked to individual semiconductor stocks. These single-stock leveraged ETFs are believed to have exacerbated market volatility and caused investors to suffer billions of dollars in losses.
Lee Jong-bae, a former conservative Seoul city councilor supported by the opposition People Power Party, said he filed a criminal complaint against Kim Yong-beom with the Supreme Prosecutors' Office on Monday through the government's online petition system.
Lee Jong-bae believes that Kim Yong-beom actually instructed financial regulators to consider launching leveraged ETFs linked to individual semiconductor stocks. Lee also claims that the Financial Services Commission (FSC) of Korea has been internally reviewing a plan since January aimed at establishing the necessary regulatory framework and system in the second quarter, followed by the launch of these products in the second half of the year. Lee stated, "Without Kim Yong-beom's instructions, financial regulators would not have hastily launched leveraged ETFs linked to individual semiconductor stocks on the eve of the election, ignoring serious market risk warnings."
