Strategy will resume increasing its Bitcoin holdings this year, and has become the world's largest institutional holder.
Odaily Planet Daily reports that Strategy CEO Phong Le stated the company plans to resume increasing its Bitcoin holdings later this year. So far this year, the company has purchased approximately 175,000 Bitcoins and sold about 7,000, with purchases roughly 25 times the sales volume. Le stated that Strategy has risen from the world's second-largest institutional Bitcoin holder to the largest. The company currently holds over 840,000 Bitcoins and has sold Bitcoin four times since May, most recently selling 1,690. The proceeds from the recent Bitcoin sales will be used to pay preferred stock dividends, repurchase shares, and replenish dollar reserves. The company previously maintained a long-standing policy of not selling Bitcoin, and this recent change is under market scrutiny. (Cointelegraph)
