According to BlockBeats, on August 16, Strategy founder Michael Saylor stated that Bitcoin has fallen 47% over the past year, while Strategy's digital credit instruments have performed between a 27% drop and a 9% increase during the same period, with STRC rising by 9%.
Financial engineering can transform volatile "digital capital" into financial instruments designed to provide returns, stability, and reduce downside risk.
BlockBeats reported on August 16th, citing Reuters, that prediction market platform Kalshi accused Nevada's gaming regulator of violating federal law during its investigation of its geofencing measures. The regulator had previously sought a $120,000 daily fine against Kalshi for allegedly failing to implement a complete geofencing scheme as ordered by a court.
Court documents show that the day after the deadline for rectification, investigators from Nevada regulators were still able to complete nine transactions on the Kalshi mobile app via local cellular networks. Kalshi stated that it had, as required by the state, engaged GeoComply, a company licensed by the local gaming regulator, to provide geofencing services and was continuously reporting its progress to the regulators.
Kalshi's lawyers allege that Nevada investigators gave false residential addresses to the platform during testing, potentially violating federal law, and that at least one investigator bypassed Kalshi's own blocking measures.
In April of this year, a Nevada judge issued a preliminary injunction prohibiting Kalshi from offering related contract transactions in the state without obtaining a gaming license.
According to BlockBeats, on August 16, CryptoQuant analyst Darkfost stated that the supply of Bitcoin that can be considered "missing" has risen to an all-time high, currently reaching 3.56 million BTC, accounting for approximately 17.7% of the circulating supply.
The statistics cover BTC that has not moved for more than 10 years. Although in rare cases some long-dormant Bitcoins may become active again, such as in July 2025, overall, the supply of these long-dormant Bitcoins continues to increase.
Over the past 30 days, more than 14,000 BTC have entered this long-dormant supply range. This trend will naturally reduce the actual supply of Bitcoin in circulation.
