Most people leave for the summer, as soon as school is done and until school starts basically. Most go back to visit their families. We spent 3 weeks on holiday last summer, this year it will probably be 4-5 weeks. The thing is that you get used to the heat and everything is build with the heat in mind so you can literally do anything you want inside. I go to amusement parks, tennisnetc with the kids. Lack of green is personal, I live next to a golf course, most communities where families live are actually quite green with lots of parks (just not downtown/marina/DIFC where a lot of tourists go).
