Nebius, a leading neocloud provider, saw its Q2 revenue increase by 454% year-on-year, sending its stock price soaring 12% in pre-market trading.
According to BlockBeats, on August 12, neocloud company Nebius (NBIS) released its second-quarter financial report, showing revenue of $582.3 million, a 454% increase compared to $105.1 million in the same period last year.
Adjusted EBITDA for the second quarter was $236.2 million, compared to a loss of $21 million in the same period last year, turning a profit; adjusted net loss was $33.2 million, narrowing by 64% from a loss of $91.5 million in the same period last year.
However, the company reported a net loss of $190.4 million from continuing operations in the second quarter, compared to a net profit of $502.5 million in the same period last year.
In the first half of 2026, Nebius' cumulative revenue reached $981.3 million, a year-on-year increase of 529%; adjusted EBITDA reached $365.7 million, compared to a loss of $74.7 million in the same period of the previous year.
According to BIT (bit.com) market data, as of press time, NBIS is up 12.05% pre-market, currently trading at $217.5.
The New York City Council is investigating four major prediction market platforms, including Polymarket, focusing on the risks associated with advertising and forced betting.
Odaily Planet Daily reports that the New York City Council is investigating advertising practices by Polymarket, Kalshi, Coinbase, and Titan, a prediction market platform owned by Gemini, bringing new regulatory pressure to the prediction market industry. New York City Council Speaker Julie Menin has sent inquiry letters to the four platforms as part of a legislative investigation to assess whether existing city laws adequately protect residents from false or deceptive marketing. Furthermore, the New York City Council is also studying policies to address issues such as prediction market products potentially inducing users to make "forced bets" on event contracts. In its letter to Polymarket, the City Council stated that the investigation will not only cover allegations against Polymarket but will also assess the prevalence of similar marketing practices throughout the prediction market industry and their potential social harm.
FlightAware withdrew its flight data lawsuit against Kalshi, but can still revise it.
FlightAware, a flight data company, has withdrawn its lawsuit against prediction market platform Kalshi. The lawsuit, filed just one day after its initial filing, accused Kalshi of unauthorized use of its flight data and trademarks to support betting on flight cancellations. This withdrawal does not preclude FlightAware from re-filing the lawsuit. The case comes as Kalshi's airline contracts face scrutiny on social media regarding alleged malicious interference with flight incentive mechanisms, and retail investor participation is relatively low. Neither company has publicly commented on the case. The lawsuit concerns whether prediction markets can use third-party data and trademarks without a commercial agreement, and Kalshi also faces other regulatory and legal challenges in several states.
