The first two outages stemmed from a crash vulnerability in the interaction between the Gas billing logic and version 1.72 (which introduced the Address Balances feature). Temporary fixes, due to their extremely low probability of failure, were triggered, leading to a second outage. The third outage occurred during the routine Epoch switch on Friday afternoon. A long-dormant flaw in the random number state preservation was triggered when validator nodes deployed the fix. The outage times were as follows: First, Thursday, 7:00 PT, recovered at 13:30 PT; Second, Friday, 5:00 PT, recovered at 8:30 PT; Third, Friday, 13:30 PT, recovered at 19:20 PT. User funds remained safe throughout the incidents, and no confirmed transactions were rolled back after network recovery.
