Chia Network

Chia was founded by the founders of BitTorrent. The consensus algorithm Of Proof Of Space and Time is used, which combines two consensus mechanisms Of "Space Proof" and "Time Proof". 
Chia raised a $3 million seed round from A16Z and others. It intends to complete the SEC registered IPO prior to the official listing of the product. So Chia's tokens will be divided into two parts: one is like a stock that pays dividends, and the other is a cryptocurrency that can be traded and used. At present, the method of token issuance is not clear. 
Chia introduced the verifiable delay function (VDF) on the basis Of the traditional Proof Of Space. The VDF calculation results must take a certain time and can be verified quickly by anyone in the network. This result can increase the probability Of PoS getting the block weight. Since the time parameter of VDF is linear, the optimal mass energy is the earliest. 
Chia's consensus process is divided into two steps. After the Proof of Space (PoS) stage, the three best Proof results are propagated to the network, PoT nodes start processing them, and the blocks verified by PoT will be synchronized to the whole network. The better the PoS quality, the faster the PoT process. PoST proves that the algorithm can effectively avoid rewrite attacks, DDoS and spam attacks. 
 In addition to the consensus layer innovation, Chia also provides a programming language for better building smart contract transactions -- Chialisp, which supports atomic exchange, authorized payee, recoverable wallet, multi-signature wallet and limit price wallet instances of smart contract.

Bram Cohen is the inventor of BitTorrent, the most commonly used peer-to-peer file sharing protocol on the Internet. In 2009, BitTorrent accounted for 43% to 70% of all Internet traffic. Bram has often been accused of being Satoshi Nakamoto, but he has denied the claims. Bram founded BitTorrent in 2004 and serves as the company's CEO. While at BitTorrent, he held various positions including engineering manager, product manager, and board member. In August 2017, he left BitTorrent and founded Chia Network. He has served as Chairman and CTO of Chia Network since its inception, and since June 2019, he has served as CEO. Bram is one of the best-selling puzzle game designers in the world.

Gene Hoffman has built and sold three companies to PGP, Inc., Vivendi-Universal, and Amdocs. From 2003 to 2016 he was co-founder, Chairman and CEO of Vindicia, a consumer subscription infrastructure company sold to Amdocs in 2016. From 2017 to 2019 he was an advisor to the board of Chia Network until he joined the Company full time in August of 2019. He has been a board member at eight technology and energy companies and serves on two non-profit boards. He has 23 years of working in high compliance security environments with 12 years of managing PCI and SSAE-16 compliance for the storage of 220,000,000 credit cards. Gene has built and scaled companies in enterprise software and SaaS, consumer subscriptions, cryptography, and software development and has served as chief executive of a public company. He has raised over $215,000,000 in public and private markets, acquired four companies and sold three. In 1997, he helped end US export controls on cryptography while at PGP, Inc. by personally exporting the PGP Source Code book.

Prior to Chia, Misha Graboi was CEO of Delta-V Global Management, a consultancy focused on asset management firms. Prior to Delta-V, Mr. Graboi spent a decade at PAAMCO Prisma where he held several roles, most recently as CEO of PAAMCO Asia and as the sector specialist for convertible arbitrage strategies at PAAMCO. Earlier in his career, Misha was an Executive Director at Goldman Sachs, where he headed European Internet Equity Research. Misha began his career at CIBC Oppenheimer where he was a technology investment banker and Internet equity research analyst.

Allison Van Houten is the CMO at Chia Network, which powers global financial access and ownership through the most secure, sustainable and compliant public blockchain. She is a go-to-market leader who makes it easy for millions of people to understand and adopt new products and categories, especially by crafting brand stories from awareness through retention. As a result, the global teams she&rsquo;s quickly scaled have driven revenue growth, bolstered brand strength, and established efficient operations at venture-backed consumer tech and media companies like Epic! For Kids (acquired by BYJU&rsquo;S), Getaround, and Omada Health. She has also built brands and launched new products at publicly traded companies, including Google, YouTube and Martha Stewart. Allison&rsquo;s education includes an MBA from The University of Michigan and a BS in Communication from Boston University, and she currently serves on the board of the San Francisco SPCA.

Prior to Chia, Vishal Kapoor served as the CEO of Paradata, a machine learning-based RPA engine for analyzing and adjudicates supply chain component data. He is also a partner at Three Legged Stool - a company that creates software solutions to serve the needs of the COVID crisis and beyond. Earlier in his career, Vishal worked in engineering, sales and product management at Alcatel, Silicon Access Networks, Verisity, and Cadence. He started his career engaged in the discovery of the Higgs Boson, developing big data and tiered data acquisition systems at the Superconducting Super Collider for the U.S. Department of Energy.

Previously, William taught graduate and undergraduate courses as a lecturer of Computer Science at the University of the South Pacific, in Suva, Fiji Islands.

Chief Legal Officer
Thomas Chow is a seasoned executive with 20 years of experience in technology, legal services, and startup companies. As Chief Legal Officer at Chia, he oversees the legal, human resources, and public policy verticals. Thomas most recently served as General Counsel and Secretary at PubMatic, where he led the company&rsquo;s initial public offering (IPO) on the Nasdaq Global Market and public company readiness process. His previous roles include Senior Counsel at Snap Inc., General Counsel, Chief Compliance Officer, and Secretary at Exponential Interactive, and Vice President, General Counsel at Vindicia. Before practicing law, Thomas served as an IT systems and network administrator for the Community Health Center Network, the University of California at Berkeley, and RCN. He holds a B.A. in sociology, with honors, from the University of California, Berkeley and J.D. from the University of California College of the Law, San Francisco. He loves working with startup founders and currently serves on the board of directors for Cryptsonic Technologies and advisory board for BiBo Labs.

Steve Booth is a seasoned sales executive with over 30 years of enterprise solution sales and sales management experience. Steve is passionate about the opportunities for blockchain software to truly change the world for the better and is focused on Chia blockchain adoption across the globe. Prior to joining Chia, he served as vice president of sales at Vindicia. Before that, he was vice president of sales and business development at Proclivity Systems. Steve has also held senior sales management positions at Aria Systems, QlikTech, Responsys, Portal Software, Oracle, and ADP. He holds a BS in marketing and finance from LaSalle University.

J. Eckert comes to Chia after spending 15 years in the Video Game Industry, having most recently been the head of Business Development and Business Operations for Genvid Technologies, working on an interactive streaming engine. Prior to that he spent 5 years at Riot Games as Director of Third Party Ecosystem and 7 years at EA Games in various BizDev, Project Management and System Operations roles over the years. J. began his career in System Operations and Software Development for web hosting companies and ASUS, before moving into the gaming industry.

As Vice President of DevOps and Security, Justin England is responsible for Chia's internal engineering processes, creating platform magic, and enabling a secure and stable workflow for all Chia employees. Justin joins Chia with 20 years of experience in computing, including stops along the way with T-Mobile, 10up, and The Pennsylvania State University. As one of the earliest adopters and evangelists of many of the now industry-wide DevOps and DevSecOps practices, it was a natural fit to join Chia and apply those cutting-edge ideas to a bleeding-edge industry. Not satisfied with ever having free time, Justin is also a serial entrepreneur, constantly looking for ways to create value by improving processes or exploiting untapped potential. For the last half decade, Justin's main focus has been creating a strong, sustainable DevOps culture at each of his stops along the way while also creating a strong, security-minded, and people-focused internal platform. He believes security should be baked into everything we do so that being secure is the default pattern and the easy pattern.

Ken Griggs is the VP of Customer Success at Chia Network. In this role, he works with clients to implement decentralized applications on the Chia blockchain. Prior to Chia he was at Deloitte as Professional Services Delivery Lead, where he was helping internal and external clients implement and operate Deloitte-developed AI solutions. Before Deloitte, Ken spent 15 years in speech recognition research at Nexidia, now acquired by Nice, where he authored 6 patents and was part of a small team that won a technical Emmy award.

Jonmichael Hands partners with the storage vendors for Chia optimized product development, market modeling, and Chia blockchain integration. Jonmichael spent the last ten years at Intel in the Non-Volatile Memory Solutions group working on product line management, strategic planning, and technical marketing for the Intel data center SSDs. In addition, he served as the chair for NVM Express (NVMe), SNIA (Storage Networking Industry Association) SSD special interest group, and Open Compute Project for open storage hardware innovation. Jonmichael started his storage career at Sun Microsystems designing storage arrays (JBODs) and holds an electrical engineering degree from the Colorado School of Mines.

Russell leads Chia Network Inc.&rsquo;s initiatives in Japan and is a multi-cultural business executive with 15+ years of professional experience in Asia. As an expert in financial technology and corporate innovation, he also serves as an outside advisor to Nikkei Inc., Japan&rsquo;s largest Business Newspaper. Before joining Chia, he was Vice-President at Trust Capital (formerly Mitsui Sumitomo Trust Capital), a top Mezzanine finance fund in Japan. Russell has held leadership positions with global technology corporations and has extensive cross-sector experience working with governments and nonprofits.
Russell is the Vice-Chair of the UC Berkeley Club of Japan, a longtime Rotarian, U.S.-Japan Council member, and a Member of the Foreign Correspondents Club of Japan.

Ali Shadle is the Vice President of Operations at Chia Network. Prior to Chia, Ali was an early product manager at the unicorn Honey that recently sold to PayPal for $4B. During her 10+ years in tech she also conducted research under Evan Reas and Dr. Anders Ericsson. Dr. Ericsson discovered the 10,000 hour rule popularized by Malcolm Gladwell. Ali&rsquo;s research led her to interview 30+ Hedge Fund Managers and 50+ Venture Capitalists to develop a hedge fund strategy based on the hypothesis of predicting &ldquo;coaching trees&rdquo; (similar to the PayPal Mafia) determining where the most successful founders, CEO&rsquo;s or executives are likely to come from who consistently outperform their peers.

Prior to Chia, Richard Tsao gathered over 20+ years of experience in the gaming industry as an executive for Riot Games &amp; Ubisoft and as a senior manager at Crytek &amp; Microsoft. He started his career in 1989 as a programmer and transitioned to technical project management positions before entering management roles.
