Karura

Karura, Kusama's decentralized financial hub platform, is a sister platform to Acala and implements a scalable, user-friendly, fast cross-chain DeFi platform using almost the same code base. Karura's Parachain is a fast, powerful platform for efficient, inexpensive and complex financial applications that improve transaction efficiency and save time. The platform offers a set of financial native coins: multi-collateral stabocoins backed by cross-chain assets such as Kusama and Bitcoin, untrusted station-post derivatives, and decentralized exchanges to unleash liquidity and fuel financial innovation.

The team has chosen to launch Karura (KAR) on Kusama island in order to provide DeFi products to its community, and will release Acala platform, a similar centre in Polkadt, later in 2021.

Karura's native cryptocurrency KAR is expected to be airdropped to community members who use KSM (Kusama's cryptocurrency) to vote for Parachain to go live in Kusama through a process called the Parachain auction.
