Kimi K2.8 Preview Fully Released: Performance Approaching K3, Supports 1M Context.
According to Beating AI, the Dark Side of the Moon has begun pushing the Kimi K2.8 Preview to the Kimi Code CLI. Users do not need to switch Model IDs; their existing kimi-for-coding will directly point to the new model.
Kimi stated that K2.8 Preview's overall performance is close to that of K3, but its thinking efficiency is higher. It also supports the same thinking intensity adjustment as K3 and expands the context to 1M tokens.
The previous generation, K2.7 Code, only had 256K of context and could only enable thinking. K2.8 essentially moved two core capabilities from K3 to the default code model.
Bitget Wallet has officially joined BCCC, Japan's largest blockchain consortium, to participate in discussions on compliance for self-custodied wallets.
Odaily Planet Daily reports that Bitget Wallet has officially joined the Japan Blockchain Collaboration Consortium (BCCC), becoming the first global ToC self-custodial wallet to join the BCCC. With Japan officially implementing new regulations related to the crypto asset service intermediary industry in June 2026, Bitget Wallet, as a BCCC member, will participate in industry policy discussions, exploring the role and positioning of self-custodial wallets within a compliant framework. Simultaneously, leveraging its global experience in operating self-custodial wallets, Bitget Wallet will participate in regulatory dialogues in the Japanese market and promote the awareness and application of on-chain daily financial services among Japanese users. Founded in 2016, the BCCC is Japan's first and largest blockchain industry association, currently boasting over 270 member companies and several specialized committees covering topics such as DeFi and stablecoins. The consortium has long served as a platform for policy communication and collaboration between the Japanese blockchain industry and regulatory agencies.
BeatSwap suffered a loss of approximately $77,512 due to an attack; attackers manipulated the Uniswap V3 spot price to drain BTX.
According to BlockBeats, on September 11th, SlowMist reported that the Web3 IP rights platform BeatSwap suffered an attack that resulted in a loss of 2,984,557 BTX (approximately $77,512 USD). The attackers borrowed 6,000,000 BTX through a flash loan and dumped it into a Uniswap V3 pool to drive down the sqrtPriceX96. They then exploited a vulnerability in the LiquidityVestingConvert contract—which only uses the V3 spot price and lacks TWAP and deviation limits—by calling deposit() twice (10,000 and 2,000 USDT) to manipulate the price and create a position, ultimately draining the BTX from the LP (LiquidityVestingConverter) pool.
OpenAI launches Data Agent: Enables users to query company databases and create data dashboards even without SQL knowledge.
According to Beating AI, OpenAI has launched a Data Agent on ChatGPT Work. Employees can simply ask questions like "Why have sales dropped?" or "Which customer groups are most likely to churn?" and the agent can automatically retrieve company data, analyze the reasons, and generate data dashboards that update with the data.
It can connect to databases such as Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks, Redshift, and MongoDB, and can also read Google Drive and SharePoint. It will use the same definitions and permissions as the company originally used for metrics such as "active users" and "revenue" to prevent different people from calculating the same metric differently.
After analysis, it can send the results to Slack or email and continue with subsequent operations after user approval. OpenAI states that almost all of its product teams, as well as more than two-thirds of its sales, marketing, and other teams, are already using this type of data agent.
Gate.com's August Transparency Report: RWA's perpetual contract OI market share reaches 49.6%, ranking first globally; 30-day net inflow ranks among the top two CEXs.
Odaily Planet Daily reports that digital asset trading platform Gate released its August 2026 Transparency Report. The report shows that in August, Gate's various businesses received data recognition from institutions such as CoinDesk, CryptoQuant, CryptoRank, and DefiLlama. Specifically, Gate's perpetual equity contract trading volume increased by 308% month-over-month, maintaining triple-digit growth for three consecutive months; its RWA perpetual contract open interest (OI) market share reached 49.6%, ranking first among global centralized trading platforms. Meanwhile, Gate's 24-hour spot and derivatives trading volume was approximately $9.5 billion, with open interest reaching $12.48 billion, both ranking among the top three globally; 30-day net inflows reached $308.1 million, ranking second among mainstream trading platforms. In traditional financial asset trading, Gate's CFD business continues to expand its asset coverage, currently covering 680 trading pairs, encompassing mainstream TradFi assets such as forex, metals, energy, indices, and stocks. In terms of overall TradeFi product portfolio, Gate.com covers over 1,000 TradeFi assets, including more than 360 underlying assets in equity derivatives, ranking first globally in both categories, further enhancing its multi-asset trading matrix. As digital assets continue to integrate with traditional financial markets, Gate.com is continuously expanding into diverse trading scenarios such as stocks, RWAs, CFDs, and derivatives, further improving its comprehensive trading infrastructure connecting digital assets and traditional financial markets by enriching asset supply and trading tools.
