According to BlockBeats, on August 16th, based on GMGN market data, the market capitalization of MarsCoin (contract number starting with 0x1706) on the BSC blockchain surged past $32 million, setting a new all-time high, with a more than 40-fold increase today. An unusual activity was observed in the CZ wallet address this afternoon, resulting in the burning of 4444 MarsCoin tokens.
In addition, Binance Alpha has previously listed the same-name token MarsCoin (contract number starting with 0xfe18), which currently has a market value of $52 million and is up 6% today.
BlockBeats reported on August 16th that SafePal officially confirmed a security vulnerability in its order tracking plugin, leading to unauthorized access to some customers' order information. Approximately 39,798 customers were affected, all of whom placed orders between March 2nd, 2025 and April 11th, 2026. The leaked information included names, email addresses, shipping addresses, phone numbers, and purchase details. Users' wallets, mnemonic phrases, and private keys remained secure. This incident did not involve mnemonic phrases, private keys, wallet passwords, bank account information, payment card numbers, or government-issued identification documents. The issue has now been fixed, and additional security measures have been implemented. All affected customers have been individually notified via email, and SafePal has also launched an official verification page where users can check their status using their order number and shipping country.
SafePal apologized for the incident and reminded users not to disclose their mnemonic phrases, private keys, or passwords to anyone, to remain vigilant against phishing and impersonation, and to continue to publish updates on its official blog.
BlockBeats reports that on August 16, Iranian Army Commander-in-Chief Khatami stated that US troops have been expelled and are no longer permitted access to the Persian Gulf, the Gulf of Oman, and the Strait of Hormuz. Khatami emphasized that US bases in the region will never be restored to their previous state, and Iran will never allow such a situation to occur. (CCTV International News)
