According to BlockBeats, on July 19th, CryptoQuant analyst Darkfost published an article stating that the Bitcoin bear market has lasted for approximately nine months, affecting both short-term and long-term holders. The cost basis for short-term holders has fallen below the cost basis for long-term holders, and this has been confirmed over three days, triggering a "bear market nearing its end" signal. This indicator excludes BTC held for more than seven years when calculating the cost basis for long-term holders to more accurately reflect long-term positions that remain economically active.
Darkfost emphasizes that this signal does not mean the bear market is over immediately, nor does it mean the market bottom has been determined. Rather, it indicates that the market may be entering the final stage of the bear market, during which a dollar-cost averaging strategy may be more reasonable.
He stated that if the cost basis for short-term holders subsequently breaks above the cost basis for long-term holders, it could be seen as a confirmation signal of the start of a bull market and a reference point for ending dollar-cost averaging. Currently, the cost basis for short-term holders has decreased from $112,500 to $69,000.
According to BlockBeats, on July 19th, based on HTX market data, Bitcoin is currently trading at $64,928.32, up 1.47% in the last 24 hours; Ethereum is currently trading at $1,875.71, up 1.65% in the last 24 hours. Despite the slight increase in the crypto market, sentiment in the perpetual contract market remains cautious.
According to the latest data from CoinGlass, the weighted funding rate for BTC (both open interest and trading volume) is 0.0032%, while for ETH it is 0.0045% and 0.0031% respectively, both below the bearish threshold of 0.005%. The current price rebound has not yet led to a comprehensive recovery in funding rates, indicating that derivatives traders' willingness to go long remains insufficient.
