Lighter's ARC rate has abnormally surged to an annualized 2100%, with a large whale heavily longing to lure short sellers in.
According to Route2FI analysis, a whale is holding a $24 million long position in ARC on Lighter, continuously injecting $360,000 per hour via TWAP (time-weighted buy-in) to drive the bullish trend. The whale has already profited $5 million. The analysis points out that this whale's behavior is similar to the JellyJelly price manipulation incident on Hyperliquid. In March 2025, a whale on Hyperliquid simultaneously shorted the JellyJelly perpetual contract and manipulated the spot price through other accounts and on-chain mechanisms, causing short sellers to be liquidated. Hyperliquid's liquidity pool (HLP) suffered losses after settlement, prompting the Hyperliquid team to urgently delist the contract through a governance vote and force settlement at an extremely low price. Currently, the annualized funding rate for ARC contracts on Lighter has soared to 2100%, which is equivalent to short sellers earning approximately 5.7% in funding fees daily. This will attract more short sellers, and the battle between bulls and bears is intensifying.
In the past 24 hours, a total of $239 million in contract liquidations occurred across the entire network, primarily affecting short positions.
According to Huoxun Finance on February 25th, CoinAnk data shows that in the past 24 hours, the total liquidation amount for cryptocurrency futures contracts across the entire network reached $239 million, including $43.7818 million in long positions and $196 million in short positions. The total liquidation amount for BTC was $105 million, and the total liquidation amount for ETH was $57.203 million.
The largest ETH long whale on Hyperliquid has turned from a loss to a profit, currently holding a floating profit of $2.75 million.
According to Huoxun Finance on February 25th, as the price of ETH rebounded and broke through $2,000, the largest ETH long position held by a whale on Hyperliquid, holding 120,000 ETH, has turned from loss to profit. Yesterday, he had a floating loss of over $20 million, but now he has a floating profit of $2.75 million.
