During his tenure, Giancarlo spearheaded the approval of the first Bitcoin futures contracts launched by the CBOE and CME, maintaining a relatively lenient stance on crypto regulation, earning him the nickname "CryptoDad" in the industry. Jefferies has positioned itself as a "full-stack investment bank for crypto and blockchain" in recent years, having completed approximately 14 digital asset transactions totaling approximately $9 billion; since 2011, it has completed approximately 100 transactions in market structure and technology, totaling approximately $141 billion; and currently has approximately 15 employees dedicated to crypto business.
