According to BlockBeats, on August 29th, Lookonchain monitored that Bitcoin treasury company Metaplanet transferred a total of 3,000 BTC, worth approximately $237 million, to Coinbase Prime in the past 24 hours.
Previously, Metaplanet had transferred BTC to Coinbase Prime multiple times. It's important to note that transferring to Coinbase Prime does not equate to a confirmed sale. This platform also offers institutional custody, trading, and financing services; therefore, this cannot be used to conclude that Metaplanet is selling BTC.
According to BlockBeats, on August 29th, after Federal Reserve Chairman Warsh delivered hawkish signals at the Jackson Hole symposium, Bitcoin surged and then retreated, falling as low as $76,877 on Friday, a significant pullback from the overnight high of $81,455, before finally closing at $77,557, a 3.39% drop for the day. Previously, Bitcoin had recorded double-digit gains this week, but the $81,000-$82,500 resistance zone once again suppressed further gains.
Warsh stated that the decline in US inflation is still insufficient, and the Federal Reserve "still has work to do" before achieving its 2% inflation target, leading the market to significantly raise its expectations for a September rate hike. CME FedWatch data shows that the probability of a September rate hike rose from 35.4% the previous day to 55.7%. This hawkish move also triggered a wave of liquidations in leveraged positions in the crypto market, with approximately $481 million in liquidations across the market in the past 24 hours, including over $360 million in long positions.
However, the long-term bullish sentiment in the market has not reversed significantly. Market forecasting data shows that traders currently see a 77% probability of Bitcoin reaching its next major target of $84,000 and a 23% probability of falling to $55,000, a figure that Friday's pullback has not changed.
From a fundamental perspective, the US spot Bitcoin ETF has seen net inflows for eight consecutive trading days as of Wednesday, accumulating approximately $2.8 billion, marking the longest consecutive inflow period since April. Technically, the Bitcoin RSI is around 69.7, not yet entering the extremely overbought zone that previously triggered the pullback; if it falls further, the $73,670-$75,157 area will become a key defense level for the bulls, while regaining the $81,000-$82,500 level is crucial for opening up new highs.
In the short term, Warsh's weakening of forward guidance means that the market lacks a clear policy path before the next FOMC meeting, and Bitcoin may still fluctuate wildly due to changes in inflation data and interest rate expectations.
