According to Odaily Planet Daily, Wells Fargo plans to launch tokenized deposits for select corporate and business clients in the fall of 2026, initially supporting USD and GBP transactions, with plans to expand to more clients and currencies in 2027. Tokenized deposits remain bank liabilities, but enable continuous transfers, programmable payments, faster settlements, and transaction visibility through blockchain. Wells Fargo is not the only bank exploring this business. JPMorgan has expanded its blockchain payment services for institutional clients, and other large financial institutions are developing similar products and shared networks. Meanwhile, the circulation and trading volume of stablecoins such as USDC continue to grow, and they are already being used for settlement in the crypto market, payment networks, and tokenized financial platforms. Tokenized deposits allow funds to remain within the regulated banking system while supporting cross-time transfers and conditionally triggered payments. Stablecoins already cover transactions, remittances, cross-border payments, decentralized finance, and tokenized asset settlement. Corporate adoption of both types of products will also be affected by accounting treatment, regulatory rules, and cross-network interoperability.

Odaily Planet Daily reports that ECX developer Paul Sztorc announced the ECX hard fork will be rolled out in three phases, rather than a single release on August 23rd as originally planned. ECX is a new blockchain that replicates the complete transaction history of Bitcoin at a specified block height. Except for Satoshi Nakamoto's portion of Bitcoin, almost all Bitcoin holders will receive an equal amount of ECX, and the Bitcoin network itself will remain unchanged. The first Alpha version will be activated on August 23rd at block height 963648, the Beta version will launch on September 20th at block height 967680, and the permanent full version is scheduled for release on October 31st at block height 973728. Tokens collected during the Alpha and Beta phases can be burned and exchanged for official ECX after the permanent chain launches. ECX replay protection remains an optional mechanism; the official wallet will enable this protection and notify users before transaction execution. Paul Sztorc stated that if users ignore the notification, ECX will replay their Bitcoin transactions, causing the relevant Bitcoins to be transferred out with the user and to a new holder; October 31st also marks the 18th anniversary of Satoshi Nakamoto's publication of the Bitcoin white paper.
