Huoxun Finance reports that the Zcash Foundation has officially released Zebra version 4.4.0, which fixes several critical security vulnerabilities at the consensus layer and urges all node operators to upgrade immediately. The vulnerabilities include a denial-of-service issue that could cause new blocks to remain undiscovered, consensus disagreements caused by incorrect sigops counting, abnormal transparent transaction signature hash processing, and a risk of memory allocation amplification attacks. The Foundation points out that some vulnerabilities could cause Zebra nodes to accept blocks rejected by zcashd, potentially leading to chain forks. Without timely updates, nodes may experience block discovery interruptions, consensus forks, and amplified resource consumption, with no current alternative mitigation measures available.

According to Huoxun Finance, as of the end of March, USDT reserves held $19.8 billion worth of gold, equivalent to approximately 132 metric tons at the then-current market price, an increase from 126 tons at the end of December last year. Gold accounted for 10% of the reserves. The main components of USDT reserves were $117 billion worth of US Treasury bonds and $7 billion worth of Bitcoin. The current circulating supply of USDT is $189.5 billion.

According to Huoxun Finance, in the past 24 hours, the total open interest of Bitcoin futures contracts increased by 7.53%, reaching $58.277 billion. Among major exchanges, Binance had $10.691 billion, OKX had $3.337 billion, Bybit had $4.833 billion, and Gate had $5.301 billion.

Bitcoin rose 2.52% to $78,800 on Friday after holding support at the 100-day exponential moving average (100-EMA). Spot market buying pressure increased, with the cumulative volume difference (CVD) rising to 11,500 BTC, the highest since February 17, indicating that buyers absorbed supply during the recent pullback. Futures activity also picked up, with open interest increasing by 6.64% to 257,000 BTC, reflecting new positions being established. Previously, approximately 9,000 BTC of leveraged positions were liquidated, clearing excess positions. Futures volume rebounded to 98,300 BTC, indicating a return of net buying pressure, but still below the levels seen during the April 27 pullback. Approximately $2.1 billion in short positions are concentrated in the $78,000 to $80,000 range, posing a risk of a short squeeze. At the institutional level, the over-the-counter (OTC) balance decreased by approximately 20,700 BTC in 30 days, approaching the level of March 2025, indicating that Bitcoin is flowing out of the over-the-counter market and reducing the immediate supply available for sale; ETF inflows reached $1.97 billion in April, showing a similar trend.
