Odaily Planet Daily reports that Japanese financial groups SBI Holdings and Startale Group have announced the launch of the yen-denominated stablecoin JPYSC, targeting institutional and cross-border payment scenarios. The stablecoin is issued and managed by SBI Shinsei Trust Bank, complies with Japan's digital asset regulatory framework, and SBI's trading platform, SBI VC Trade, will serve as the primary distribution channel, while Startale will handle technology development. Both parties stated that the trust bank support model will help improve governance and compliance, promote the application of the yen in the digital financial system, and provide a compliant alternative to the current market dominated by dollar-denominated stablecoins. The project is expected to launch in the second quarter of this year after obtaining regulatory approval. In recent years, Japan has continuously promoted the development of its stablecoin system. The 2022 revision of the Payment Services Act defined fiat-pegged stablecoins as "electronic payment instruments"; last October, Japan approved JPYC's issuance of the yen-denominated stablecoin. The three major banks, MUFG, SMBC, and Mizuho, have also launched pilot programs for stablecoins and tokenized deposits. (The Block)

According to Odaily Planet Daily, Nate Geraci, president of The ETF Store, stated that a 50% drawdown is not uncommon for long-term Bitcoin investors, and it may not be the last. He pointed out that despite the significant market decline, spot Bitcoin ETF investors have not shown obvious signs of panic, and fund flow data shows that their attitude remains stable. Geraci believes that recent fund movements indicate that some ETF investors prefer to buy on dips during pullbacks.

Huoxun Finance reported on February 27th that Wikipedia co-founder Jimmy Wales stated that Bitcoin's design is robust enough to be unlikely to go to zero unless there is a cryptographic failure or a sudden 51% attack; even then, forked networks might continue. However, he believes Bitcoin has "completely failed" as a currency and store of value, and is more likely to fall back to a "hobbyist" price level in the future. He gave a 2050 price target of less than $10,000, or even lower, based on today's value. Wales also stated that current claims of AI robots using cryptocurrencies are exaggerated, and that Bitcoin remains primarily a speculative asset, unlikely to replace traditional safe-haven assets such as gold and real estate.

Huoxun Finance reported on February 27th that 0GLabs, a decentralized artificial intelligence infrastructure protocol, announced the launch of the "0GApollo Accelerator," offering up to $20 million in funding to incubate and scale revenue-generating AI applications based on decentralized infrastructure. The accelerator is a collaboration with BlockchainBuildersFund (BBF), part of the Stanford University blockchain ecosystem, which includes projects such as the Stanford Blockchain Accelerator, BASS, and MS&E447. The project also receives support from Google Cloud, with each selected team receiving $200,000 in cloud resources. Furthermore, Privy (acquired by Stripe), a wallet infrastructure platform, will provide selected teams with production-grade wallet solutions, aiming to help projects acquire enterprise-grade computing and infrastructure capabilities from an early stage.

According to a February 27th announcement from IoTeX, due to an attack on the ioTube cross-chain bridge on February 20th and the unauthorized issuance of CIOTX on the Ethereum side, IoTeX plans to immediately deprecate CIOTX on Ethereum/Base/Solana and permanently close the relevant bridges. The attacker's minting will not be recognized. Eligible holders must submit their transaction hashes through the claims portal. After verification, IOTX will be issued on the IoTeX chain at a 1:1 ratio. BSC/Polygon/IoTeX are unaffected by the issuance and will reopen the bridges after auditing for users to migrate back to IOTX independently, before permanently delisting them. IoTeX will also notify CEX/DEX/DeFi to completely delist or remove CIOTX integrations.
