Orbs Invests in CRYMBO to Support Institutional Shift Toward On-chain Finance

Orbs has made a strategic investment in CRYMBO , a financial infrastructure provider that helps licensed institutions launch regulated digital asset services. The investment brings together Orbs’ decentralized trading technology and CRYMBO’s platform for managing the compliance and operational requirements of institutional on-chain finance.

As banks, payment providers and brokers explore digital asset offerings, they face challenges that extend beyond access to blockchain networks and trading liquidity. Identity verification, custody, settlement, payments and transaction monitoring are among the services institutions must coordinate while meeting regulatory requirements.

CRYMBO aims to address these needs through a single integration connecting institutions to more than 75 providers across custody, liquidity, banking rails, payments, identity verification and transaction monitoring. Its platform allows clients to coordinate these services through tailored workflows while retaining flexibility over which providers they use.

The company does not hold client funds or private keys. Instead, institutions can launch services under their own brands and licenses, using CRYMBO to connect the infrastructure and service providers required for their operations.

The platform is already live with licensed institutions and has processed more than $2 billion in transaction volume. Its infrastructure is ISO 27001-certified and designed to support regulatory requirements including the European Union’s Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA) and the Financial Action Task Force’s Travel Rule.

For Orbs, the investment extends its involvement in institutional on-chain finance beyond trading and execution. The company operates a decentralized Layer 3 network supporting dSPOT for advanced spot trading, dPERPS for perpetual futures and Execution Services for decentralized on-chain execution. It says its technology has facilitated more than $14 billion in trading volume.

“Institutional adoption of on-chain finance depends on infrastructure built for the realities of regulated financial services,” said Ran Hammer, CEO of Orbs. “Orbs focuses on trading and execution; CRYMBO has built the compliance, identity, and operational layer institutions need around it. Backing that team is a bet on where institutional on-chain finance is heading.”

The two companies are positioning their technologies as complementary components of the institutional digital asset infrastructure stack. Orbs provides trading and execution capabilities, while CRYMBO connects institutions with the services needed to operate digital asset businesses within their existing regulatory frameworks.

CRYMBO founder and CEO Eyal Daskal said the investment reflects growing interest from decentralized finance companies in the institutional market.

“Banking is moving on-chain. Seeing a DeFi-native player like Orbs embrace the institutional opportunity shows how far the market and technology have matured,” Daskal said. “CRYMBO brings the infrastructure regulated institutions need. Working together will help us scale our business and reach more customers.”

The investment highlights a broader infrastructure challenge facing institutional adoption: bringing financial activity on-chain requires not only trading technology, but also the compliance, identity and operational systems that regulated businesses rely on.
