Project Introduction

QuarkChain is a block chain underlying technology solution based on sharding technology. It has the characteristics of security, decentralization, high throughput and scalability. Algorithm

To protect all transactions, root chains and shards in the QuarkChain system run the following consensus algorithm: 1. Like Bitcoin and Ethereum, root chains run the POW algorithm. This means that when forks occur on the root chain, the fork with the longest length (or total difficulty) will survive. 2. Each shard runs a root chain first POW consensus algorithm. Given two forks on a shard, to determine which fork survives, a node compares their corresponding root chain before comparing forks. If the forked root chain is long, the fork will survive no matter how long it is.
