HOPR

Project Introduction

HOPR network is an open source incentivised "hybrid network" that provides network-level metadata privacy to web users.

Project Vision

The HOPR protocol is designed to provide Internet users with complete control over privacy, data and metadata. HOPR lays the foundation for a more sovereign and secure Internet.

Market Demand

"Metadata surveillance" is one of the biggest threats to public and commercial privacy today, allowing savvy observers to monitor all Internet traffic, no matter what security precautions users may take.

Solution

The HOPR protocol provides an alternative, based on frameworks built over the Internet, that makes metadata monitoring impossible. HOPR networks, a decentralized peer-to-peer network, are user-managed networks. HOPR is independent and unaffected by the central entity. HOPR tokens help that the network can be financially self-sufficient by providing users with a means of payment for those who want to run HOPR nodes. DAO governance, HOPR token holders participate in the development and operation of HOPR.

Project Implementation Mechanism

The HOPR network is a decentralized and energized point-to-point network open to anyone who wants to join and run nodes. Because of its decentralization, no entity can control it. No one has special administrator privileges, no primary node or server to control traffic or access. Instead, all nodes are peers that work together in a common way to run the network through the simple expedient of running the HOPR protocol.

Token Usage Scenarios

1 HOPR relay node operators pledge HOPR tokens in dedicated HOPR payment channels in order to be eligible to send packets or relay packets of other users. Pay the cost of data distribution. 3 Participate in governance.

Algorithm

HOPR's innovation is to make each successive pair of nodes in the chain depend on each other for payment. As data is sent through the HOPR network, payments are generated for each node in the chain. It's locked with an encryption key. If you have a complete key, you can demand payment. But if any part of it is missing, it is worthless.

Characteristic

1. The Message layer of the HOPR protocol is designed to solve the problem of how to send a message (or more accurately a "packet") from one point in the network to another without revealing where, from whom, or from where. The time or destination at which the packet is sent. HOPR gets its name from the fact that it provides metadata privacy by sending packets across multiple nodes, or "hops," in a network. 2. Every time the node operator forwards a packet, they gain the right to receive payment. However, Repeaters received only half of the information they needed to try to claim a reward when they received the packet. When they successfully forward the packet to the next node in their journey, they get the other half. 3. As data is sent over the HOPR network, payments are generated for each node in the chain. It's locked with an encryption key. If you have a complete key, you can ask for payment. But if any part of it is missing, it is worthless.

Incentive Mechanism

Node operators can pledge HOPR tokens in their nodes for a reward for relaying data. Node runners charge in HOPR for the data they help relay, including large tokens distributed in the form of overlay traffic.

Points

Hopr is a pioneer in Web 3 data protection, providing tools and frameworks for the Web 3 ecosystem, the decentralized Internet, and ensuring that everyone has control over their privacy, data, and identity as they navigate.

Project Risk

1. Risk of insufficient promotion; 2. Competition from competitors.

Values

As concerns over digital privacy have escalated in recent years, the crypto community is actively building solutions to protect online user privacy. Demand for online privacy tools is growing as adoption of Brave, an encryption-driven browser, has surged this year.
